A ‘natural’ fit for the B.C. Interior’s natural resource industry
President and COO Jarrett Flegel: Sectors like forestry, mining, agriculture and heavy industry “are the beating heart of our business at BOSS Lubricants.”
BOSS Lubricants’ new Kelowna branch office serves mining, forestry and agriculture with quality products, great service
CALGARY, Canada (Feb. 10, 2026)—The mining industry tunnels deep into the heart of British Columbia’s economic success.
In the province’s Interior, and other regions, mining—along with its support services and supply chain activity—remains one of B.C.’s most important industries.
About $18 billion in economic activity. Nearly 30% of the province’s exported goods. More than 35,000 jobs. Nearly 4,000 businesses.
Mining is prominent in B.C.’s Thompson-Okanagan region, alongside other natural resource industries such as forestry, agriculture and natural gas.
And it’s a good part of the reason BOSS Lubricants put out our shingle in Kelowna in November 2025—as the 13th branch location in our cross-Canada network.
“Natural resources are central to the economy of the B.C. Interior, and those sectors—forestry, mining, agriculture, heavy industry—are the beating heart of our business at BOSS Lubricants,” says President and Chief Operating Officer Jarrett Flegel.
“The products we make and sell meet the challenge of the most taxing of work and the harshest of conditions. Frankly, it was natural for us to open our Kelowna branch office to better serve these industries.”
BOSS’s new Kelowna location, at #150 250 Beaver Lake Court, includes 10,000 square feet of warehouse and storage space.
In recent years, BOSS has made inroads into B.C. through other developments:
The November 2025 acquisition of Lubeworx Wholesale, a Kelowna-based distributor of preventative maintenance products in the Interior.
As an authorized Shell distributor, BOSS will also sell, service, and deliver all Shell-branded lubricants in the region.
The opening of our Abbotsford branch location in August 2025 to bolster our support of the trucking, automotive and natural resources sectors.
“In recent years, we’ve focused on building a stronger position in B.C., while offering the same value proposition that we have for more than three decades—great service, quality products, competitive pricing and our ironclad BOSS warranty,” says Flegel.
